Writer: Hedgehog SanctuaryHedgehog Sanctuary

We had the 1st St.Albans Woodland Beavers Scout Group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/2007888546135026) visit Hornbeam Wood Hedgehog Sanctuary Last week for an Educational and Awareness visit. They learnt about hedgehogs including their habits and habitats, how to make gardens hedgehog friendly and why the hedgehogs are in decline and endangered.

The Beavers donated lots of yummy cat and dog food for the hedgehogs and got to meet one of the hedgehogs that we are rehabilitating. The group were so well behaved and silent around the hedgehog. They had a wonderful time full of questions about hedgehogs. They will now be able to help our hedgehogs in their own gardens and maybe persuade their parents to help make their gardens a little more hedgehog friendly!
